SUMMERS OF YESTERDAY
Where have all the bands that used to make the parties last in Canadian parks. Throughout the late 80s and 90s we used to have a bunch of summer shows in the park. They were always so much fun, now it seems nobody wants to play the parks and small clubs. We saw Honeymoon Suite several times in Niagara Falls for free. They would play almost every summer. When I got older we used to go see them in bars and arenas. Class Society was always a fun time too. I miss those summers, I miss those bands. Why don’t any of the newer bands ever do the same thing?
Some of my favorite Canadian bands of the 80s:
Honeymoon Suite – Johnny D.
Class Society – Julian Fernandes (awesome show, Julian Fernandes rocks!, can’t sing all that well – but what a show. What happened to these guys?)
Chalk Circle—Another awesome act – best song: April Fools
Glass Tiger – Alan Frew – these guys made it big (Canadian terms) than disappeared
Barney Bental – Nice guy, good band, what happened to them
